Back to School Brunch ~ Mom's only!

It's Thursday and it's about time for me to join in Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for a Tablescape Thursday! Our entertaining for the month of August was all done outside by the pool! I'm excited to start thinking about the holidays and moving the fun inside! For other fabulous tablescapes, check out Susan's blog every Thursday!

Just for the fun of it, I invited a few friends who's kiddos had gone off to school last week to celebrate our "freedom". I've cried every morning all week watching my son go off to Middle School but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I do love the freedom that comes to moms when school begins! In honor of that freedom, I hosted a little brunch!

The menu:
Hashbrown and Sausage Casserole
Cinnamon Rolls
Fresh Fruit
Yogurt Dip
Apple Juice

The table was pulled together from things that I had around the house. I am a paper napkin lover because they come in so many fun colors, so nothing fancy here. After brunch, we clear the table and played cards. Of course, as will all dinners that I host, the little red bowl with paper in it was filled with questions for some fun table talk! Enjoy a little virtual tour of our brunch.

Love your tablescapes! I must know, where did you get the "back to school" sign displayed on your table? I love that!

Thanks! The little "Back to School" sign is a photo frame that I picked up at either Taipan Trading or Real Deals two years ago. It was like $5 and I fell in love with it! Wish I'd have bought every one for gifts! I just used cardstock and chalk to make the sign. Usually, there's a family photo in it. I "rob Peter to pay Paul" for most of my tablescapes... bring things in from other rooms so that I can keep in the budget. Have a great day!

Adorable and I love all the colors and the fallish schoolish them ;-). I don't know--the bloggers are talking about going inside or enjoying the last of the outside days for eating. Here it is too hot and mosquito filled to eat out in the summer so we are looking foward to the fall for outdoor eating!

(I posted my tablescape on my spindle cottage blog--but I do have other blogs...that blog is going to be mostly for house type pics)

Hi Sophia! Just passing through, but had to tell you how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post! What a fabulous idea, and one of my favorite tablescapes today! I can only imagine how much the other Moms appreciated this; and I wouldn't be surprised if you just started a very popular new tradition! ~tina

What a perfect way to celebrate fall! I love your Hummels...they are so cute as a centerpiece. I also love the cake stand you have them placed on. Thanks for sharing.

What a terrific idea and you sure did it up right! Your table is so pretty and the menu sounds yummy. I remember those days of "back to school" and know I would have loved to celebrate with an invitation to a brunch like yours! My youngest son just left this morning for 2nd year university and I have to say, DH and I are looking forward to having the empty nest again.
